In furtherance to the MoU signed between KIIT Deemed to be University and Acer, Pro- Vice Chancellor Prof. Sasmita Samanta inaugurated Acer Predator Thronos at Design Thinking Lab on 10th October, 2019 at School of Electronics Engineering in presence of all Directors (Schools of Technology) and Director, Corporate Relations in campus 12. She asked our students to continue the good work in the field of research and innovation and assured students of all possible support.
Dr. Kumar Mohanty, Director, Corporate Relations said the focus now is on collaborating with industry to create a value proposition for both academia and industry and the Industry is eager to work on this model.
Dr. Arun Ray, Director School of Electronics said students were excited about the same. The Thronos Lab shall be helpful in learning and applying the concepts of AR/VR through coding and gamification. This whole setup is a combination of high-end equipment and powerful Orion 9000 CPU.
This workstation will be solely used by students for Research & Development purpose in Artificial Intelligence, 3D Modeling, Extended Reality & Game Development domains. Students of the Design Thinking Lab exhibited their projects, which were from domains of AR/VR, Artificial Intelligence, Block chains, IoT and various emerging technologies.
The Pro-Vice Chancellor emboldened the students for their project work and shared her experience and suggestions with the students.
