“Everything is theoretically impossible until it is done”
On the occasion of National Science Day 2021, IIC, KIIT Deemed to be University in collaboration with NSS, SME organized an IDEATHON Challenge on 28th February 2021. The event attracted participation from students from across the country. It was organized in presence of Prof. P. C. Mishra, Convener, IIC; Prof. U. P. Singh, President, IIC; Prof. Smita Rani Panda, Coordinator, MIC-SME; Prof. Asit Behera, Coordinator, MIC-SME; Dr. Delabul Hossain, Dr. Amlana Panda, Dr. Rojalin Sahu, Dr. Abhilas Swain, Dr. Manoj Ukamanal and Dr. Debjyoti Sahu. IDEATHON 2021 was hosted by School of Mechanical Engineering students Ayashkant Nayak, Amartya Yadava and Netra Damle.
A large number of students from different universities like Lovely Professional University, Central University of Odisha, SOA University and engineering colleges like BIT Durg, CET, Odisha took part in the IDEATHON 2021. KIIT students, Ayush Bose and Samaroha Nandi bagged the first prize. They had proposed an innovation which involved alterations in Maglev, steering and suspension, which can be made available to the public after proper trials. Second position was bagged by KIIT’s Antalina Sarkar who had discussed how improvisations were better than inventions. Nihar Roy of KIIT was declared the runner up of the event.
IDEATHON 2021 aimed at providing a platform to creative minds to voice their diverse thoughts. It is an initiative taken by the NSS Volunteers to make a difference in the field of science. IIC team conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to the leadership of School of Mechanical Engineering and KIIT Deemed to be University for providing the opportunity and the platform to host such an event.
