The NSS Day 2019 was celebrated on 24th September, 2019 in the Auditorium, Campus-7, KIIT DU marking the 50th Anniversary(Golden Jubilee) of the establishment of NSS. NSS was established with a goal to inculcate the good values among the youth of the country.
Dr. Kajal Parashar, Programme Coordinator of KIIT NSS Bureau, placed the Welcome Address and appreciated the meticulous efforts of all members of KIIT NSS Bureau. Prof. Sudarshan Nanda, Prof. Emeritus & Research Chair and Prof. B.C. Guru, Adviser Quality Assurance Cell addressed the volunteers and inspired them to work harder.
Volunteers of various branches of NSS were felicitated with the “Best Volunteer award”. The ” Best Program Officer” award was presented to the Program Officers Prof. Prabhat Kumar Rout, NSS School of Biotech; Prof. Sruti S. Singh, NSS School of Electronics and Prof. Jinia Kundu, NSS School of Law for their tireless efforts in propelling NSS KIIT to new heights.
After the completion of the award distribution ceremony, Chief Guest and Guest of Honour, Mrs.Surekha Sundari Swain, SNO-cum-Deputy Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha and Mr. Kushal Biswas, Founder of ‘Speak for Animals’ Society and Recipient of Amitav Mishra Awards for Social Work inspired the audience and talked about ways how we can better ourselves as a human being.
Towards the end, various cultural programs consisted of songs and dance performances were presented by the volunteers of different branches of NSS KIIT.
