GDG KIIT Organizes “Building Bad: A Multi-Domain Tech Challenge” at KIIT-DU

The Google Developer Group (GDG), KIIT successfully organized an engaging student event titled “Building Bad: A Multi-Domain Challenge” on 2nd November 2025.The event aimed to foster creativity, collaboration, and innovation across diverse technical domains such as AI/ML, Web and App Development, Systems, and Cyber-security, drawing inspiration from the popular theme “Breaking Bad.”

The challenge comprised four interactive segments, Pitch it Bad (Flutter)Heisenberg’s Certainty Principle (AI/ML)Fix the Lab (Web/App Dev), and Word Bank Mayhem (Systems & Cyber-sec), testing participants’ innovation, problem-solving, and design skills. Students competed in multiple rounds, earning points for creativity, accuracy, and technical execution.

The event featured guest performances by performers from Studio 44, Bhubaneswar, adding an artistic flair to the technical fest. With a total of 117 student participants, the event witnessed enthusiastic engagement and positive feedback from attendees. The creative fusion of technology and art made “Building Bad” one of the most memorable GDG KIIT events of 2025.

The event was organized by the GDG KIIT Core Team under the guidance of Dr. Raghunath Dey, and Prof. Sourav Kumar Giri, Faculty Coordinator, and with the support of Dr. Bhabani Shankar Prasad MishraDean, Prof. (Dr.) Biswajit SahooDirector General, School of Computer Engineering, and Dr. Ajit Kumar Pasayat, Assoc. Dean, KSAC, KIIT-DU. “Building Bad” successfully showcased the spirit of innovation, collaboration, and creativity that continues to define the vibrant tech culture of KIIT.
