The School of Public Health, KIIT Deemed to be University and its 2nd year students of Master of Public Health (MPH) and Master of Hospital Administration (MHA) course have welcomed the new students of MPH and MHA program in an amusing as well as glittering ceremony – “NOVATO FIESTA- 2018” on 5th Sept, 2018. The event was organized in the auditorium of KIIT School of Management.
The Inaugural Ceremony was graced by Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, VC, KIIT DU; Prof. Harekrishna Satapathy, VC, KISS DU; Mr. Panchanan Parida, Management Representative, KIMS, KIDS, KINS & School of Public Health and Prof (Dr.) B. C Das, Advisor, KIMS. Among the dignitaries, Prof. Rambabu Kodali, Pro Vice Chancellor, KIIT DU; Prof. (Dr) S.B. Ogale, Director, KIMS; Dr. A. Lenka, Principal, KINS; Prof. Debasish Das, Director, School of Management and Dr. Sucheta Priyabadini, Director, Student Counseling were present on the occasion along with and Faculty Members from KIMS.
The Inaugural Program commenced with an introductory address by Prof. (Dr.)Sudhir Kumar Satpathy, Director, School of Public Health. In his address, Prof. Satpathy highlighted about the journey of School of Public Health in last 3 years and its achievement. He thanked the Founder of KIIT and KISS, Prof. (Dr)Achyuta Samanta for his guidance and leadership for the progress of School of Public Health.
In his address, Prof. (Dr.) B. C. Das, Advisor, KIMS expressed his happiness regarding the progress of School of Public Health within the short span of time and wished the students for a bright career in Public Health and Hospital Administration. Mr. Panchanan Parida, Management Representative, KIMS, KIDS, KINS and School of Public Health congratulated the faculty and students of School of Public Health and shared the vision of the Founder of KIIT and KISS, Dr. Achyuta Samanta.
In his address, Prof. HrushikeshaMohanty, VC, KIIT DU appreciated the work of School of Public Health and achievements of the school including its students and faculty. In his deliberation, Prof. Harekrishna Satapathy, VC, KISS DU emphasized the importance of public health in addressing the health issues of wider community and inspired the students to study with dedication.
Following the Inaugural Meeting, a documentary focusing on health issues due to manual stone breaking developed by a 2ndyear MPH student was screened. Subsequently, the students of 1st year and 2nd year of the school presented a cultural programme, which nicely reflected the hidden talents of both the senior and new students.
