Closing Ceremony of KIIT International Model United Nations-2019

“Live your life in PEACE, not in PIECES…” An apt theme for India’s one of the biggest Model UN – The KIIT Model UN 2019 on which more than 1000 national and International delegates deliberated for 3 days in 14 committees. Their talent, their awareness in international relations, their initiative to participate in KIIT Model UN and their commitment of time and energy to resolve international issues through negotiations have made this conference a grand success.

The Guests for the Closing Ceremony on 22nd September, 2019 were Mr. Akash Tiwari from PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) India, an organization which has been working enormously in educating policymakers and the public about animal abuse and promoting an understanding of the right of all animals to be treated with respect and Ms. Bharati Chakra from HelpAge India, a leading charity which has been working with and for the disadvantaged elderly for nearly 4 decades advocating for their needs such as Universal Pension, quality healthcare, action against Elder Abuse and many more at a national, state and societal levels.

The other dignitaries present were Prof. Jnyanaranjan Mohanty, Registrar and Dr. Shyam Sundar Behura, Deputy Director, Student Services, KIIT Deemed to be University. Dr. Behura in his Welcome speech said that KIIT Model UN 2019 witnessed perspective delegates discuss, debate, analyze and strategize the various issues related to World Peace. He thanked the entire Secretariat for putting up a great show. Registrar emphasized on the importance of Peace in the society and urged one and  all to work in different aspects to attain peace.

It was definitely an honor for KIIT to play host and serve a large gathering of exponents of diverse ideas and opinions.
