School-wise career orientation programs were organized over two days by the KAREER School and Training & Placement Dept., KIIT Deemed to be University for all the Schools of Technology for the 2020-2024 Batch students.
The motto of the program was to orient and equip the students on industry readiness and its prerequisites, thereby making use of their valuable transit time before entry into 3rd semester. The program helped students understand and focus on the Bucketization Pattern; viz., Higher Studies, Job Programs, Competitive Examinations, Start Ups/Entrepreneurships, Soft Skills, etc., which is initiated to align the students with Platform-Based Learning and Assessment from the very beginning of the career journey. Experts across different verticals presented the road map against each bucket clarifying the journey from campus to corporate.
Setting the context, Prof. Priyadarshi Biswal, Dean, KAREER School welcomed everyone and highlighted the on-campus opportunities including the complete career roadmap designed for meeting the aspirations of KIITians and apprised them of the basic level of preparedness required for Industry Internships/Capstone Projects/Employability Enhancement with GATE, IES, etc. from a very opportune time as hiring and engagement process starts from the early days of pre-final year itself.
In his address, Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT-DU briefed the students about the basic functionalities and role of KAREER School , T&P, Industry Engagement and Corporate Relation wings in helping students choose their interest area wisely by equipping themselves in the right way. He urged the students to elevate their level of performance and preparedness to meet the expectations of corporates, research houses, etc., while highlighting the coveted accomplishments of the University and the vision and farsightedness of Founder, Prof. Achyuta Samanta.
Mr. Gaurav from MyPerfectice, presented the in-house LMS, i.e Myperfectice Platform with its semester-wise interventions, assessments and e-learning details. Prof. Prachet Bhuyan, Dean T&P threw light on various capstone Projects and Internship Opportunities available and ways to crack them along with the parameters required for the same.
Prof. Suman Bhattacharya, Director, KAREER School mentioned the technology shift and adaptation happening in the current times. He briefed students about the chain of digital offerings rolled out by KIIT, envisioned and designed by senior academicians with guidance from Industry Experts. Prof. Abhishek Ray, Dean IE addressed the multiple queries of the students on career, competencies, projects etc. giving insightful details of the journey from campus to corporate and offered vote of thanks. Senior professors and tutor-mentors in good numbers participated in the program.
The two-day session was organized in four phases aimed at facilitating multiple career opportunities, besides Employability Training offered by CAAS with specific roadmaps to achieve career goals with specialized interventions through different digital and social platforms.
