Today marks a historic achievement in Phulbani, the headquarters of the parliamentary constituency of Kandhamal. Comprising 20 blocks from 4 districts – Boudh, Nayagarh, Ganjam & Kandhamal – and with the support of KIIT, in association with the district administration, a mega job fair was organized.
A record-breaking 120 companies from across Odisha and India joined the occasion, offering employment opportunities to over 20,000 youths from the parliamentary constituency. It’s a testament to hard work and collaboration, with more than 13,500 provisional job offers made, salary ranging from 12,000 to 35,000 INR and cover a broad educational spectrum, from standard 5th to post graduate levels.
Organizing such a mammoth event was not a small feat. Bringing 120 companies to one of Odisha’s smallest cities, ensuring hospitality, and managing the influx of 20,000 youths with transport and food arrangements were enormous tasks. However, all became possible by the incredible support of the Kandhamal district administration and KIIT’s unyielding efforts, fulfilling Hon’ble Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s vision of empowering youths through education and employment.
Reflecting on the last mega job fair in 2020 held at the behest of KIIT, where 15,000 youths appeared and 7000 jobs were offered, this year’s success virtually set a new benchmark.
Many thanks to the Collector of Kandhamal and his team, the representatives of the 120 companies who travelled to Phulbani, and specially Mr. Lalit Gandhi, President of Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture, for their invaluable contributions.
It is a remarkable achievement, a testament to the tireless efforts over the last three months by Dr. Achyuta Samanta, a renowned educationist, social worker, founder of KIIT & KISS, and the Member of Parliament for Kandhamal.
