The 71st Republic Day was celebrated by KIIT, KIMS and KISS and KiiT IS amid gaiety and grandeur on 26th January, 2020. While the Founder of KIIT & KISS Dr. Achyuta Samanta unfurled the National Flag, the Chairman of KPR Mills Ltd. Mr. K.P. Ramaswamy graced the event as Chief Guest.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. K.P. Ramaswamy urged the students to follow the noble ideals of the heroes of our freedom struggle. In his address, Dr. Achyuta Samanta said that, when we fully eradicate poverty and illiteracy from society and make the downtrodden people live with honour, then we only can achieve the goal of comprehensive development. “The students of KIIT and KISS are the pride of the Nation”, added the Founder.
On this occasion, parade and diverse colorful and patriotism based cultural shows were displayed by the students of KIIT, KISS, KIMS, KiiT IS and other schools of KIIT. Among the dignitaries, Kim Seung-Jae, Professor, Hanseo University, South Korea; , Olympian Dutee Chand; Prof.(Dr.) Subrata Acharya, Pro-Chancellor, KIIT DU; Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, VC, KIIT DU; Prof. Harekrishna Satapathy, VC, KISS DU; Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro-VC, KIIT and Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT DU were present among others.
Lastly, the winner teams in cultural and parade shows were awarded. Besides, the employees of KIIT Group of Institutions, adjudged as Best Staff for the year 2020, were awarded by the dignitaries. The best Student Achiever award was also conferred on this occasion.
