The two-day 62nd All India Political Science Conference and International Seminar, jointly organised by KISS-DU and the Indian Political Science Association (IPSA), has come to an end.
On this occasion, IPSA conferred the IPSA National Thankfulness Award on the Founder of KIIT and KISS Dr. Achyuta Samanta in recognition of his contributions. He was also inducted as an Honorary Life Member of IPSA.
As part of the conference, an international seminar on the theme “We the People of Bharat” was held. Presiding over the session, Professor Manoj Dikshit, President of the Indian Political Science Association and Vice-Chancellor of Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner, highlighted the crucial role of political scientists in transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.
Prof. Dikshit stated that Western nations have consistently attempted to exert influence and interfere in India’s development path. However, India has resisted these pressures and is steadily progressing on its own indigenous development model. He noted that for centuries Western nations defined the parameters of a “developed country,” but India’s challenge to these definitions has become a matter of concern for them.
He further emphasised that India is working towards inclusive development by optimally utilising its own resources and ensuring growth across all sectors and social strata, from the grassroots to the top.
The conference witnessed the participation of over 3,000 delegates, including more than 30 Vice-Chancellors, former Vice-Chancellors, political scientists, and heads of political science departments, faculty members, researchers, and students from universities across the country.
On this occasion, individuals who have made significant contributions to various fields of political science and rendered notable service to the Indian Political Science Association were also honoured.
