KiiT International School SEN Globe at Purple Festival Goa

KiiT International School’s SEN Globe was prominently featured at the International Purple – We Care Film Festival on Disability Issues, supported by the Government of Goa. As part of the festival’s commitment to celebrating diversity and inclusion, Chairperson KiiT International School Dr. Mona Lisa Bal had the honour of felicitating the neurodivergent star cast of Sitaare Zameen Par—a moving recognition of extraordinary talent and resilience.

The felicitation ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Dr. Shombi Sharp, UN Resident Coordinator in India; Mr. Darrin Farrant, Director, UN Information Centre for India and Bhutan; and Shri Subhash Phal Dessai, Hon’ble Minister for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Government of Goa.

The event highlighted SEN Globe’s ongoing mission to support neurodivergent learners and foster inclusive education. Heartfelt narratives shared by the mothers of the Sitaare Zameen Par cast deeply touched the audience, serving as a reminder of the perseverance and love that drive the journey of neurodiverse families.

Founder Director of the We Care Film Festival, Mr. Satish Kapoor, was lauded for his dedication in creating this impactful platform that promotes inclusion, awareness, and dignity for persons with disabilities. The Purple Festival reiterated the message that inclusion is not an act of charity but a shared responsibility—one that KiiT International School’s SEN Globe continues to champion.
