The 12th Foundation Day of KiiT International School was celebrated in style on 2nd July, 2018 at the Auditorium in KIIT Campus-11.
Mrs. Saswati Bal, President, KiiT and KISS in her brief address, encouraged the students to do their best and draw strength from their values to see them through difficult times in life. The Founder of KIIT&KISS, Prof. Achyuta Samanta highlighted the need to develop leadership skills and the benefits of the KiiT-IS brand name, encouraging the entire fraternity to rise and shine.
At the outset, the Chairperson of KiiT-IS, Dr. Mona Lisa Bal emphasized on the need to weave a strong sense of values in young people to help them manage with the pressures of the time. The Principal of KiiT-IS, Dr. Sanjay Suar shared the uniqueness’ of the school and also etched out the aspirations and goals in the years to come, recognizing the role of the team in the growth of an institution.
This was followed by the investiture ceremony of the Students’ Council and the prefects. With the Scottish bagpipes playing a magical melody, the flag march from the aisles created a flutter as every eye strained to catch a glimpse of the spectacle. The investiture closed with the flags being placed in the flag post, followed by pinning of the badges. The Head boy and Head girl addressed the gathering. The academic and all round toppers were awarded prizes and certificates amidst deafening applause. To top it up to perfection, various members of the fraternity, faculty and staff, were also felicitated for their contribution to the School.
The academic toppers of Grade 12 were the cynosures of all eyes. Ms Ritu Kumari of CBSE (Commerce) scored 99% with full marks in three subjects. She was awarded a cheque of Rs 100,000/- for being the regional topper and bringing accolades to the School. Ms. Atmika Patnaik CBSE(Humanities) and Soham Swain CBSE (Science) were also felicitated along with Ashutosh Sahoo of Grade 10.
