Mr. Indrajeet Banerjee, Dy. G.M. (Sales & Marketing), Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) delivered a Guest Lecture at KIIT School of Public Health on the theme “Marketing & Strategy for Hospitals Services” on 22nd September 2021. Mr. Banerjee started the session with an overview of the Indian healthcare industry. He discussed how healthcare marketing is unique and one needs special knowledge and skills to perform well in this sector.
With several real-life examples he discussed how to make best use of various marketing strategies and tools to improve community health, building trust, and maintaining the healthcare organization and patient long term relationships. He presented a case study related to hospital acquisition, service life cycle and SWOT analysis of a hospital. During the discussion, he appraised participants about Dr. Achyuta Samanta’s contribution to the healthcare sector, charismatic leadership style and proactive action in mitigating the challenges of running the first and the largest Covid Hospitals in the state of Odisha.
The session was attended by the students of Master in Hospital Administration of KIIT School of Public Health and moderated by Dr. Priti Ranjan Sahoo of KIIT School of Management. It was organized by Dr. Pratap Kumar Jena, Coordinator, MHA Programme. Director, KSPH, Dr. S. K. Satpathy appreciated the effort and said that the programme would add value to the overall knowledge of students.
