The concluding seminar of the ongoing Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) Project titled ‘Contributions of health access in India and United Kingdom to the global burden of diseases’ between KIIT School of Public Health (KSPH), KIIT-DU and Health and Education Department, Coventry University, UK was held on 13th October 2022 through interactive online mode.
It was an innovative student-led seminar in which both KSPH and Coventry students presented healthcare models and health outcomes in India and the UK respectively. During the questions and answers session, students from both countries asked questions to each other to clarify queries and gain better understanding of the healthcare context in both countries. Both groups of students also put forward recommendations for improving health services and systems for both countries. Dr. Hannah Degge and Dr. Heidi Saxby joined this seminar as faculty from Coventry University, UK. The KSPH faculty and staff members were also present during this seminar.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Manas Ranjan Behera from KSPH and Dr. Hannah Degge from Coventry University, UK, who are also the coordinators for this project. Both groups of students enjoyed participating in such innovative cross learning programs. KSPH will endeavor to conduct more such International cross-learning programs between students in the future.
