KIMS School of Physiotherapy successfully organized a Hands-on Workshop on “Integrated Approach on Lymphedema Management & Cancer Rehabilitation” from 31st October to 2nd November 2025.
Over 50 national participants including physiotherapists, postgraduate students, and clinicians took part enthusiastically in this scientific and skill-based training program.
The resource person, Prof. (Dr.) Shailendra Mehta, Principal & Professor, Department of Physiotherapy, JRN Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University, Udaipur, Rajasthan, shared his vast expertise of over 23 years in physiotherapy education and clinical practice. A PhD and Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) trained at Tata Memorial Hospital and Lymphedema Training Academy (UK), Dr. Mehta has trained more than 5000 physiotherapists and authored several books including “Management of Lymphedema” and “Principles & Practice of Physical Rehabilitation in Neurological Disorders.”
The workshop focused on modern and evidence-based cancer rehabilitation techniques, emphasizing early intervention, lymphatic drainage, compression therapy, and manual therapy approaches for effective lymphedema management. Participants gained hands-on experience in assessment, treatment planning, and rehabilitation strategies that significantly improve functional recovery, quality of life, and psychosocial well-being of cancer survivors.
