KSPH Hosts Two-Day Workshop on Health Technology Assessment (HTA)

The KIIT School of Public Health (KSPH) successfully hosted a two-day intensive workshop on Health Technology Assessment (HTA) on 16th and 17th October 2025. The workshop brought together Master’s and PhD scholars for an enriching and interactive learning experience, fostering a deeper understanding of evidence-based decision-making in health.

The sessions were led by Dr. Krushna Chandra Sahoo, a distinguished HTA expert and Lead Scientist at HTAIn, Department of Health Research (MoHFW), Government of India. The workshop covered a wide range of topics, including the role of HTA in evidence-informed policymaking, India’s transformative journey through HTAIn and the National Digital Health Mission, economic evaluation and cost-effectiveness analysis, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, and Digital Health in healthcare decision-making.

Participants gained practical insights into data-driven policy design, cost analysis, and the future of digital health governance. The interactive discussions encouraged critical thinking and built the foundation for strengthening the bridge between research, policy, and implementation in the Indian health system.

This initiative was conducted in alignment with KIIT University’s Task Force on HTA, aimed at establishing a Centre of Excellence in Health Technology Assessment at KIIT-DU.

Dr. Ramya Pinnamaneni, Director, KSPH, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Founder, Vice Chancellor, and Registrar for their visionary leadership, guidance, and continuous support. She highlighted that workshops like these reinforce KSPH’s commitment to advancing evidence-led public health education and practice.
