KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering Organizes AICTE-VAANI Sponsored Workshop on “Use of AI in Industry 5.0 and Smart Manufacturing”

The School of Mechanical Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University, organized a three-day AICTE-VAANI sponsored workshop on “Use of AI in Industry 5.0 and Smart Manufacturing” from 17th to 19thSeptember 2025 in physical mode.

The inaugural session, held on 17th September 2025, was graced by Dr. V. Pandu Ranga, Dean Continuing Education and Professor, IIT Bhubaneswar, as the Chief GuestDr. Satish Kumar Panda, Assistant Professor, IIT Bhubaneswar as the Guests of HonourDr. B. Surekha, Dean, School of Mechanical Engineering, KIIT; and Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar SahooDirector (R&D), SOT, KIIT DU. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Smitirupa Pradhan, and Dr. Nilotpala BejDr. Amlana Panda, Assistant Registrar (R&D), faculties and students of the School of Mechanical Engineering were also present in the inaugural session.

Across three days, the workshop featured ten expert talks by academicians and industry professionals. Notable sessions included: Dr. Biswajit Sahoo, HP Inc. on Computer Vision and Deep Learning in Industry 5.0; Mr. Priyadarshi Sadangi, EmTek CoE on Industry–Academia CollaborationDr. Satish Panda, IIT Bhubaneswar, on AI in Smart ManufacturingProf. Manas Ranjan Patra, Berhampur University, on Machine Learning Models in ManufacturingProf. (Dr.) Rabi N. The valedictory ceremony, held on 19th September 2025, was attended by Dr. B. Surekha; Prof. (Dr.) Rabi N. Satpathy; and Dr. Smitirupa Pradhan, marking the successful conclusion of the event, which strengthened the link between AI innovation and industry-ready applications in Smart Manufacturing. The workshop saw the participation of around 55 delegates, including faculty members from leading institutions across Odisha, along with KIIT faculty and Ph.D. scholars.
