A CME-cum-Workshop on Renal Pathology was organized by the Department of Pathology, KIMS recently. As many as 147 delegates from different medical colleges, including SCB Medical College and AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, participated at the CME, which was inaugurated by Brig. (Prof.) Dr. Ambika Prasad Mohanty, Principal, KIMS.
At the first session, the clinical perspective of non-neoplastic renal diseases was discussed by Dr. Kumar Avijeet Dash, Nephrologist, KIMS, while approach to diagnosis was discussed by Dr. Meenakshi Swain, Consultant Pathologist, Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad. The second session of the CME featured cased based discussions. A quiz for PG students was also conducted by Dr. Meenakshi Swain, in which Dr. Sreelakshmi S. and Dr. Chhayasmita Mali (3rd year PG students) of KIMS Pathology won 1st Prize and 3rd Prize respectively.
The CME was conducted under the guidance of Prof. & HOD (Dr.) Urmila Senapati with cooperation of organizing secretary Prof. (Dr.) Ranjana Giri, and attended by all faculty members and PG students. The OCMR awarded the two credit hours to the attending delegates.
