CyberVault Hosts “InCypher”: A Cyber Security Workshop and a Capture The Flag Event

On October 25, 2025, CyberVault hosted the event “InCypher”. The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Ajit Kumar Pasayat, Associate Dean, KSAC, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across all domains and courses.

The event highlighted the growing importance of Cyber Awareness Month, emphasizing its role in promoting cyber safety, nurturing innovation, building practical skills, and providing real-world insights into cyber security practices and technologies. Students were encouraged to take an active part in such initiatives to enhance their knowledge and achieve holistic growth.

Following this, CyberVault organized “InCypher” — a Cyber Security workshop followed by a Capture the Flag (CTF) competition designed to foster innovation and practical learning. The competition unfolded in two engaging segments such as Cyber Security Workshop: Led by the students, the session focused on cyber hygiene and cyber safety, featuring a live demonstration that showcased how various cyber attacks and breaches occur in real time, along with effective defense techniques to prevent them. Capture the Flag (CTF): Participants tackled a series of real-world cyber security challenges, where solving each task revealed a hidden flag, testing their problem-solving and technical skills.

Participants actively engaged in hands-on coding and real-time problem-solving, guided by interactive sessions and support from the society. Scorecards were displayed for all participants, and the winners and runners-up were felicitated with prizes and certificates in appreciation of their performance. Every participant received a certificate acknowledging their valuable contribution and enthusiasm.

The success of “InCypher” reinforced CyberVault’s dedication to promoting practical learning, enhancing technical competence, and fostering a strong culture of cyber security awareness within the KIIT student community.
