‘KIMAYA’, the Medical Society under KIIT Student Activity Centre (KSAC), hosted a virtual Interactive Talk Show on the occasion of World Mental Health Day on 10th October 2021. The resource persons of the event were Prof. Dr. Jaya Prakash Russell Ravan and Dr. Shivanee Tripathi, from Department of Psychiatry, KIMS. The talk show was moderated by Garima Saluja and Ananya Bhol, members of Kimaya Society.
The focus of the interaction was combating Mental Health Issues of students post Covid-19 pandemic. The talk show also focussed on the common mental health issues that students encounter on a day to day basis. They emphasized regular physical activity, spending time on one’s hobbies and interests and adequate sleep in maintaining one’s mental health. The faculty members also shared facts and figures about anxiety and ways to manage it in an effective and efficient manner.
The event was a wholesome experience and culminated with the suggestion of regular mental health professional advice for the student community. Dr. Shyam Sundar Behura, Dy. Director Student Services congratulated team KIMAYA for arranging and executing the programme well.
