A student seminar on ‘Air Pollution: Health hazards and prevention’ was organized by the Academic Society of Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) on 26th March 2022 under the guidance of Dr. Ratikanta Tripathy, Associate Professor, KIMS & Faculty Coordinator, Academic Society. Speaking on the occasion, Brig. Prof. Dr. Ambika Prasad Mohanty, Principal, KIMS praised the students for choosing an apt topic for discussion. The seminar proceeded with a presentation on ‘Sources of air pollution and its burden on humanity’ by Ms. Sunanda Banerjee and Ms. Swati Suchismita (2020 batch). It was followed by a presentation by Ms. Yasha and Ms. Anushka Ghosh (2019 batch) on various ‘Health hazards’ caused by air pollution. Mr Akashdeep Majhi (2017 batch) discussed the ‘Prevention of air pollution’. Prof. Dr. Shubhransu Patro, Vice Principal, KIMS; and Dr. Nirmal Ku. Mahakud also graced the occasion. Ms. Elena Susan Shaji and Mr. B. Rishi Mukherjee from the 2020 MBBS batch anchored the event, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. B. Rishi Mukherjee (2020 batch). The seminar had enthusiastic participation from MBBS students from different batches.
