KIIT University is hosting International Model United Nations Conference-2017 from 27th to 29th October, 2017. It was inaugurated at Campus-6 with 1800 delegates from India and across the border. The theme of this year is ‘Rights of the Indigenous people’.
Gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest, His Excellency Mr. Sergio Arispe Barrientos, Ambassador Designate of Bolivia to India, who an indigenous person said, “across the ages, the indigenous people are languishing under suppression by capitalist states. Moreover, a wide gap is apparent between the indigenous and elite sections of the society. It should be abridged at first hand, otherwise Sustainable Development Goal(SDG) can’t be achieved”.
Ms. Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, eminent Indian film-maker and writer whose recently released movie ‘Bareily ki Barfi’ received a lot of appreciation also graced the inaugural ceremony as a Special Guest.
The Founder of KIIT & KISS, Prof. Achyuta Samanta, expressed his pleasure on gracing such an event of immense significance and emphasized that it should be observed in a massive scale.
