KIDS Celebrates World Health Day

The Department of Public Health Dentistry of Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences (KIDS), a constituent under  KIIT Deemed-to-be-University, organised a rally on April 8 to create awareness among the public about the importance and value of good health as part of the celebration for World Health Day.

Based on the theme for this year i.e. “Health For All’’, a free health check-up camp was organised which included free blood pressure check-up and free blood sugar check-up at KIDS. A total of 220 patients came for the check-up. The activities were organised under the guidance of Dr. Ipseeta Menon (HoD and Professor) of the department.

The World Health Day is a global awareness day that is celebrated every year on April 7 to commemorate the creation of the World Health Organization (WHO) and each year draws attention to a specific health topic of concern to people all over the world. This day is celebrated to spread awareness about both physical and mental health that can help people improve their lifestyle for a happy life.

Following the philosophy of the “Art of Giving”  propounded by Founder of KIIT and KISS, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, the initiative was taken by Dr. Jugajyoti Pathi, Deputy Director (Administration); and Principal Dr. Aswini Kumar Kar, to celebrate the World Health Day.
