Kinetic Grooves 2.0: A Mesmerizing Celebration of Dance, Culture, and Global Unity at KIIT

The KIIT International Students’ Society successfully hosted the much-anticipated Kinetic Grooves 2.0 on 16th October 2025 delivering an unforgettable evening of rhythm, heritage, and cross-cultural harmony. With the theme “Retro – Dancing Through Decades,” the event paid tribute to classic dance styles and timeless tunes from across the globe — an ode to the melodies and moves our parents and communities cherished through the years. The stage came alive as students celebrated the spirit of international friendship through dynamic performances that transcended borders.

The event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Saranjit Singh, Vice-Chancellor, KIIT-DU and Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, whose presence added immense value and encouragement to the international student community. Over 30 countries participated, with vibrant and energetic performances by students from Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Ivory Coast, India, and more. Each group brought their cultural essence to the stage — from traditional folk dances to retro fusion numbers, each performance celebrated the diversity and unity that define KIIT’s global campus.

Adding to the evening’s vibrancy were interactive segments like “Guess the Flag” and “Guess the Hook Step”, which kept the audience enthusiastically engaged. Winners were awarded exciting prizes, infusing the night with laughter, learning, and fun. Kinetic Grooves 2.0 was not just a dance showcase; it was a powerful reminder of how cultural expression can unite people from all walks of life. It echoed the mission of the KIIT International Students’ Society — to build bridges between nations through friendship, creativity, and mutual respect.
