KIIT School of Computer Engineering Organizes Research Colloquiums

The School of Computer Engineering, KIIT Deemed to be University organized a Research Colloquiums Day on 14th February, 2020 to provide a common platform to all its research scholars and faculty to share their works and know each other. The event was flagged off by Prof. S. Nanda, Head-CIR in the presence of Prof. Samaresh Mishra, Director, SCE; Dr. B S P Mishra, Dean, SCE and Prof. Suresh Chandra Satapathy, Dean-Research, SCE.

A welcome address was given by Dr. Satapathy and he emphasized the need for such meetings and advised all scholars to interact with each other to explore the possibilities of collaborative research in the future. Dr. BSP Mishra, in his address focused more on quality publications rather than number of publications. “Researchers must initially identify the appropriate gap and explore alternative solutions” was stressed by Prof. Samaresh Mishra in his address.

Dr. S. Nanda elaborated the essence of Research and clarified the rules and regulations of PhD of KIIT DU. Total 85 scholars participated in the meet and engaged in various activities throughout the day. Each scholars presented their own work done so far. Prof. Satapathy delivered a lecture on “How to articulate a quality technical article and select appropriate journals for publications”.

Post lunch session, all scholars exhibited their progress of work in poster sessions which were evaluated by a panel of members from the School of Computer Engineering and School of Computer Applications. Dr. Siddhartha Swarup Rautaray, Associate Professor, SCE, Convener of Research Colloquium planned the entire event and  Dr. Manjusha Pandey  Associate. Professor, SCE opened the inaugural session and coordinated whole event throughout the day.

Prof. J. R. Mohanty, Registrar of KIIT DU visited the poster sessions and interacted with many scholars and inquired the progress. Many M. Tech, and B. Tech students interacted with researchers to be appraised of new technologies and cutting edge research. The school has planned to host such meet twice every year from next year onward to provide better scope to all to take benefits.
