KIIT International e-Model United Nations was inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. Roger Gopaul, High Commissioner of Republic of Trinidad & Tobago to India in the presence of Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU, Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar and other dignitaries on 29th January 2021. The three-day event is being organized by KIIT Student Activity Centre (KSAC).
Dr. Shyam Shundar Behura, Dy. Director, Student Services, KIIT placed the welcome address. After the inaugural ceremony, Abhijeet Sahoo, Secretary General declared the conference open and presented the report on KIIT International e-MUN 2021.
The first day of the conference featured an invigorating speech by Sanya Seth, Programme Analyst, Intergovernmental Processes, UN Women and a motivating discourse by Tushar Kanti Das, Senior Program Manager (South & East Region), PLAN India. The day proceeded with sessions in the various committees of the e-Model United Nations, such as DISEC, UNHRC, WHA, SPECPOL, ECOSOC, UNPBC, UNFCCC, UN-WOMEN, UNSC and HCC. A total of about 600 international and national participants from a majority of European and Asian nations are participating in the 8th edition of KIIT International e-Model United Nations.
