Ms. Debasmita Rath, a second-year student from the School of Fashion Technology, KIIT Deemed to be University, has once again demonstrated her remarkable prowess in power-lifting by clinching multiple medals in recent competitions.
In the 5th State Power-lifting & Bench Press Championship held at ISPAT English Medium School, Rourkela, from December 27th to 29th, 2024, Ms. Rath secured an impressive array of medals. These include Gold in the junior category overall, Gold in the junior category open bench press, Gold in the senior category overall, and Bronze in the senior category open bench press. These accolades are a testament to her dedication and exceptional strength.
Earlier in 2024, Ms. Rath made headlines by winning the gold medal in the national power-lifting championship for the junior category held in New Delhi from June 7th to 10th, 2024. She continued her winning streak by breaking records and securing another gold medal in the senior category at the national championship held in Sonipat, Haryana, from September 13th to 16th, 2024.
Ms. Rath’s outstanding achievements in power-lifting have brought immense pride to KIIT and serve as an inspiration to her peers and aspiring athletes nationwide.
