Ms. Itishree Sahoo, Fashion Faculty-cum-Designer, KIIT School of Fashion Technology (KSOFT) has received the National Designer Award 2021. Universal Excellence Award & Recognition, an initiative of Khadi Design Council of India (KDCI), declared Ms. Sahoo as an emerging well established designer under the celebrity designer category. Her design achieved the tag of best indo-western dress of the year 2021. She was awarded at the annual event of National Designer Award 2021 organized by Khadi Design Council of India (KDCI) and UEAR in New Delhi on 30th December 2021. The award ceremony was conducted by following all the protocols relating to the Covid-19 pandemic.
As many as 25,000 renowned designers from all over India participated at this annual contest. About 10 institutes, 30 designers and 6 celebrity designers got an invitation for the final fashion runway, and about 80 supermodels participated in the event. Following the government rule, the event was conducted within two days of the time period. Prof. H. S. Khatua, CEO of KSOFT, KSMC & KSFMS and all faculty members and students congratulated Ms. Itishree Sahoo for her stunning collection showcased and won the National Designer Award 2021 despite tough competition by thousands of participating designers.
