The 52nd Annual State Conference of the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISACON) Odisha 2025 was held from September 12-14. The conference theme was ” Perioperarive physicians : Transforming care , saving lives.” The Postgraduate Department of Anaesthesiology, KIMS played a pivotal role in the event, organizing a pre-conference workshop on Haemodynamic Monitoring.
It was led by Prof. (Dr.) Amrita Panda, the organising chairperson along with Dr. Prateek Mitra, the Organizing Secretary.
Renowned speakers from across the country contributed to the workshop’s success, including Dr. Narmada Padhy and Dr. M. Srilata from Hyderabad, and eminent faculty from Bhubaneswar and AIIMS Raipur, such as Dr. Biranchi Narayan Pratihary, Dr. Satya Swaroop Patnaik, Dr. Dharmajivan Samantaray and Dr. Chinmaya Panda. In-house speakers from KIMS, including Dr. Sanjoy Majhi, Dr. Anjan Kumar Dash, Dr Umesh Kumar Dash ,Dr Supriya Kar and Dr. Saswati Das, also made valuable contributions by delivering insightful lectures with interactive sessions and hands- on demonstrations.
The faculty members of the Department of Anaesthesiology at KIMS played a pivotal role in enhancing the conference’s success, serving as both delegates and chairpersons in multiple sessions and contributing their expertise to the event’s proceedings.
The conference featured exciting competitions, where KIMS had strong representation. Dr. Laxman Ku Senapati won the prestigious Dr. S. Sathpathy Memorial Paper Presentation Award, while Dr. Athira K. Nair and Dr. Aaron Elliot secured second and third places in the Dr. P.K. Mishra Poster Presentation competition. Other KIMS representatives included Dr Anjali Kumari , Dr Supriya Kar and Dr. Shivangi Sinha.
Valuable talks were presented by Dr. Amrita Panda, Dr. Saswati Das, Dr. Umesh Kumar Dash and Dr Ashok Kumar Badamali in the academic program of the conference. KIMS’ involvement in the conference was commendable, with faculty and students delivering exceptional presentations.
