KIIT has added another illustrious feather to its cap by winning the highly coveted FICCI Higher Education Excellence Award in the category ‘Excellence in Financial Sustainability & Student Access (Private)’. The honour was conferred by the Chief Guest, Hon’ble Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, at a glittering ceremony organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in the national capital on 06th October 2025.
The award recognises KIIT’s robust and self-reliant financial model and its deep-rooted commitment to inclusivity and accessibility in higher education. The university’s pioneering efforts in providing extensive scholarships and financial aid to students from all socio-economic backgrounds, ensuring that quality education remains within reach, were lauded by the jury.
This remarkable feat of winning one top award and being a finalist in two others is a powerful testament to KIIT’s comprehensive leadership and its innovative, student-centric approach to education.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Saranjit Singh, Vice-Chancellor, stated, “Receiving this award from Hon’ble Minister Shri Gadkari is a tremendous honour. It is a recognition of the visionary foundation laid by our Founder, Prof. Achyuta Samanta, and the collective, dedicated efforts of our entire faculty, staff, and students. KIIT’s achievement was further underscored by its strong showing in two additional categories, where it earned a place among the finalists. Being shortlisted for Excellence in Creating Employment & Entrepreneurship and Excellence in Globalization highlighted the university’s holistic strengths and reaffirmed its commitment to comprehensive excellence.
The award was received on behalf of the university by a high-level delegation comprising Prof. Dr. Saranjit Singh, Vice-Chancellor, KIIT-DU; Dr. Vikash Sabat, Deputy Director, International Relations, KIIT-DU; and Dr. Siddharth S. Rautray, Dean, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), KIIT-DU. This accolade reinforces KIIT’s position as a frontrunner in the Indian higher education landscape, setting benchmarks in sustainability, accessibility, and holistic student development.
