Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Deemed to be University, bagged Achiever Award, under the category of Educational Institute- Odisha State Energy Conservation Award 2025 on National Energy Conservation day 14th December, 2025.
The programme was organized at Convention hall, Lokseva Bhawan Bhubaneswar. KIIT actively champions energy conservation and efficient resource utilization through impactful initiatives. Regular energy audits ensure optimal performance of electrical systems, while awareness campaigns and strategically placed banners across the campus promote a culture of energy-saving consciousness.
KIIT’s commitment extends to its academic offerings, with courses like Renewable Energy Sources, Energy Audit and Management, and Environmental Impact of Energy integrated into its UG and PG syllabi, equipping students to tackle energy challenges effectively.
This holistic approach underscores KIIT’s dedication to fostering sustainable practices and environmental stewardship. As many as 14 different categories were considered like energy saving and conservation projects like replacement of CFL with LED, solar water heating system, solar power generation, Biomass power generation, use of sensors for overhead tanks, smart AC, sensor based lights, and dedicated feeder from Chandaka grid etc which gives a total electric saving 38.68% for the year 2024-2025 and the specific consumption of electricity is 15.32.Thus percentage reduction of SEC over previous financial year is 17.67%.
