KISS-DU Faculty Wins Prestigious 16S Grand Research Challenge by Un-coded and Premas Life Sciences
Dr. Vimal Pandey, Associate Professor of Botany at KISS Deemed to be University (KISS-DU), has been honoured as one of the seven national winners of India’s first-ever Uncoded 16S Grand Research Challenge in 16S Sequencing and Metagenomics. This pioneering initiative, launched by Uncoded in collaboration with PremasLife Sciences, aims to equip visionary scientists with cutting-edge tools to transform microbiome research.
The challenge attracted innovative proposals from researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and scientific pioneers across India, all focused on decoding the complex microbial ecosystems that influence health, disease, agriculture, and the environment. Dr. Pandey’s proposal distinguished itself through its scientific ingenuity, transformative potential, and rigorous methodological framework. His ground-breaking research has earned him the coveted Uncoded 16S Metagenomics Sequencing support, further reinforcing his commitment to advancing microbiome exploration.
While sharing his achievement, Dr. Pandey added, “This particular initiative will be highly beneficial for KISS-DU as it aligns perfectly with the core mission of promoting tribal health and nutrition by decoding gut microbiomes and environmental microbial communities. The thrust area of my research aims to uncover microbial patterns linked to malnutrition, immunity, and health outcomes among tribals”.
Dr. Pandey’s recognition not only underscores his remarkable contributions to the field but also highlights KISS-DU’s growing prominence in national scientific innovation and research excellence. The KISS-DU fraternity congratulates Dr. Pandey for this phenomenal achievement and wishes him good luck in his future endeavours.
