KIMS Professor Nominated SAFES Executive Council Member

In a proud moment for Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Dr. Sambit Das, Professor and Head, Department of Endocrinology, has been nominated as Executive Council Member of the South Asian Federation of Endocrine Societies (SAFES).

SAFES is one of the largest and most vibrant endocrine bodies in Asia, comprising endocrine societies of many Asian countries, including India. The federation is committed to collaborative research, advancing patient care, developing regional clinical guidelines, and addressing the unique challenges of endocrine disorders in the South Asian region.

Dr. Das is one of three distinguished endocrinologists from India elected to this prestigious position, representing India on this prominent regional and global platform.

The Founder of KIIT, KISS and KIMS Dr. Achyuta Samanta has congratulated Dr. Das for his nomination to the prestigious body.

An alumnus of the prestigious PGIMER, Chandigarh, Dr. Das also serves as the National Vice President of the Endocrine Society of India, and holds key positions in the state chapters of RSSDI and AIAARO. He is a member of the national task force of ESI for formulating guidelines on the management of obesity.

Dr. Das is an avid clinician, dedicated teacher, and accomplished researcher. Recently he has also been awarded “Endocrine luminary clinical and academic excellence “from Honourable Governor of Odisha on the eve of Doctors’ Day. His passion for endocrinology continues to bring recognition and pride to the institute and the state.
