KIIT University Women’s Cricket Team Makes History, Storms into Quarterfinals of National University Inter Zone Cricket Championship 2024-25

In a historic milestone for Odisha, the KIIT University Women’s Cricket Team has become the first university from the state to qualify for the quarterfinals of the prestigious National University Inter Zone Cricket (Women) Championship 2024-25. This landmark achievement marks a proud moment for Odisha and sets a new benchmark for university-level sports in the region.

The KIIT team earned their spot after an impressive 23-run victory over Shivaji University on the third day of the tournament. The championship, organized by KIIT Deemed to be University with the help of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, is being held at the KIIT International Cricket Stadium from April 2 to April 11, 2025. Featuring 16 top university teams from across India, the tournament serves as a grand stage for showcasing emerging cricketing talent.

Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT, KISS, and KIMS, extended his warmest congratulations to the KIIT Women’s Cricket Team for their stellar performance and entry into the quarterfinals.
