KIIT Student Aditi Jaiswal Selected to Represent India in Archery at World University Games 2025, Rhine-Ruhr, Germany

KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, continues to set new benchmarks in sports by successfully hosting the prestigious selection trials for the Indian Universities Archery (Men & Women) Teams for the FISU World University Games (WUG) 2025, scheduled from July 16 to 27, 2025, in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany. The trials commenced on 25th March 2025 at the KIIT & KISS International Archery Stadium and concluded on 27th March 2025.

Over 300 talented archers, including several national and international-level athletes representing more than 100 universities across India, participated in the trials. The trials were supervised by a selection panel comprising esteemed experts to ensure impartiality and precision in choosing the finest archers for the Indian University Archery Team: Mr. Rahul Banerjee, Olympian and Arjuna Awardee; Mr. Rajesh Hasdak, Asiad Archery Coach; Mr. Surinder Singh Randhawa, National Archery Coach; Dr. Gaganendu Dash, Director General, Sports & Yoga, and one representative from SAI.

Among the athletes, Ms. Aditi Jaiswal student of KIIT Deemed to be University has secured a spot in the Indian Archery Contingent for the upcoming WUG 2025 in the Recurve (Women) category. Aditi’s selection is a reflection of her dedication, talent, spirit and the facility & support she received from KIIT University. Her journey is a testament to perseverance and passion, inspiring countless young athletes to dream big and strive for excellence.

Expressing her heartfelt gratitude, Aditi said, “I am deeply grateful to Prof. Achyuta Samanta Sir, Founder of KIIT, KISS & KIMS, for his unwavering support and guidance. His vision and commitment to nurturing sports have provided me with the platform to achieve my dreams. I dedicate this success to the incredible mentorship and encouragement I have received at KIIT.”

Prof. Achyuta Samanta expressed immense pride and congratulated Aditi for her remarkable achievement. He commended her dedication, discipline, and perseverance, extending his best wishes for her success at the games in Germany and beyond. Prof. Samanta also congratulated the other selected archers and wished them continued excellence and triumph in their sporting careers.

The Coaching Camp of the Indian University Archery Team will start from 20th June 2025, providing the athletes with rigorous training and preparation for the prestigious event. The team is scheduled to depart for Rhine-Ruhr, Germany, on 12th July 2025, ensuring they are well-prepared for the challenges ahead at WUG 2025.

KIIT Deemed to be University will also be hosting selection trials for Volleyball, Athletics, and Lawn Tennis later in April. The selection trials will be followed by a month-long coaching camp at the University. This initiative aims to identify and train India’s most promising university athletes, equipping them with world-class facilities and mentorship to ensure their best performance at the FISU World University Games 2025.
