Indian University Selection Trials for Volleyball (Women) and Lawn Tennis (Men & Women) Kick Off at KIIT University for 2025 FISU World University Games, Rhine-Ruhr, Germany

The atmosphere at the KIIT University Multipurpose Indoor Stadium came alive today as the Selection Trials for Volleyball (Women) and Lawn Tennis (Men & Women) officially began. These trials are being held in preparation for the prestigious 2025 FISU World University Games, set to take place from July 16–27, 2025, in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany.

Entrusted by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), KIIT – Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar has taken on the mantle of hosting these national-level trials from April 9th to 11th. Over 70 talented Volleyball and 56 Lawn Tennis Players, including several national and international stars, have gathered from across the country with hopes of representing India on the world stage.

In addition to the Volleyball and Lawn Tennis Selection Trials, we are pleased to inform you that KIIT University will also be hosting Athletics and Badminton Selection Trials in the month of April. Previously, the University successfully conducted Archery Selection Trials in March. Following the selection process, a one-month intensive coaching camp will be organized at KIIT University to prepare the selected athletes for participation in the FISU World University Games 2025. These trials are part of our broader initiative to identify and nurture India’s most promising university athletes.

All participants expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT, KISS & KIMS, for his visionary leadership, unwavering support, and provision of world-class sports infrastructure, accommodation, and hospitality.

Prof. Samanta personally welcomed the athletes and extended his best wishes for their journey ahead, stating, “These trials are more than just a step toward international competition—they’re a platform for dreams to take flight. I encourage each player to give their best, believe in themselves, and remember that every champion was once a contender who refused to give up.”
