English Access Scholarship Program Launched for KIIT Students
The U.S. Consulate General in Hyderabad, in collaboration with KIIT Deemed to be University, inaugurated the English Access Scholarship Program, supported by the Regional English Language Office (RELO) of the U.S. Mission to India on 9th September,2026. U.S. Consul General Laura Williams and a delegation from the U.S. Consulate General in Hyderabad graced the launch of the program.
The one-year scholarship programme is designed for students from Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. It aims to strengthen their understanding of U.S. standards in research and academic communication. As many as 50 students will be enrolled in the programme.
The initiative marks another important step towards greater collaboration between the U.S. and India. It will equip students with the confidence and global exposure needed to succeed in higher education, research, and professional environments.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT & KISS, thanked the U.S. Consulate General in Hyderabad and RELO for supporting this meaningful initiative. He said, “This programme will help students from Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines align their communication and research skills with U.S. standards. I always feel happy when our students get opportunities that help them learn, connect, and grow at the global level.”
The English Access Microscholarship Program, sponsored by the U.S. Embassy and managed by the U.S. Department of State, was officially launched at the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) in 2009. The core objective of the programme was to build foundational English language skills, enhance understanding of U.S. culture, and nurture critical thinking through after-school classes and intensive sessions.
