Achyuta Samanta Awarded 63rd Honorary Doctorate

Well-known social worker, educationist, and founder of KIIT & KISS, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, was conferred with his 63rd honorary doctorate by Awadhesh Pratap Singh (APS) University, Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. The honor was presented during the university’s 12 th convocation ceremony on 12 th December 2024.

The recognition underscores Dr. Samanta’s remarkable contributions to society through education and social service. While conferring the degree, the university commended his exceptional efforts in transforming lives through education and community development.

Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Samanta said, “For the last 33 years, I have been working relentlessly for the betterment of society. This honorary doctorate will remain a cherished milestone for me.” Dr. Samanta has now been awarded 63 honorary doctorates by prestigious universities and institutions worldwide in acknowledgment of his outstanding contributions to education and social service.

The ceremony was graced by Shri Mangubhai C. Patel, Hon’ble Governor of Madhya Pradesh and Chancellor of APS University; Vice Chancellor, Dr. Rajkumar Acharya. Several other distinguished dignitaries were also present on the occasion.

The APS is a government university, and it has been named after Captain Awadhesh Pratap Singh, a distinguished son of the soil and a freedom fighter. The university was established in 1968.
