Achievements of General Medicine Department, KIMS at APICON Odisha 2019

Under the leadership of Prof.(Dr.) Sudhansu Sekhar Panda, Head, Postgraduate Department of General Medicine, Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences, the Department has shown excellence in academic activities at APICON 2019, Odisha chapter held at Berhampur on 23rd and 24th of November 2019. Twelve postgraduate residents had presented 9 posters and 3 oral presentations fetching two awards, one in each category.

Ably guided by Prof.(Dr.) Shubhransu Patro; Dr. Swastik Acharya, a 2nd-year postgraduate resident had presented an original research study having the title “Pattern, Severity, and outcome of dengue fever in patients attending a tertiary care hospital in Eastern Odisha” and has secured 2nd position.

Dr. Ankan Patel,  a 2nd-year postgraduate resident had presented a poster having the title “Secondary hypertension in young adults” and secured 3rd position under the able guidance of Dr. Nikunj Kishor Rout and Prof.(Dr.) Siddhartha Mishra. 

APICON, Odisha chapter is one of the largest conferences held in the state of Odisha, where more than 500 delegates from different parts of the state and many faculties of national and international repute participate.

At the same venue, Prof. (Dr.) Lalatendu Mohanty was nominated as Organizing Secretary for APICON 2020, Odisha Chapter to be held at Bhubaneswar and Prof. (Dr.) Pradip Behera was nominated as Joint Secretary for Association of Physicians of India, Odisha.
