KIIT Student Team ‘Ketav’ Finishes Runner-up in National Electric Motorcycle Racing Competition

Team ‘Ketav’, comprising students of KIIT-DU, have secured the runner-up position in the Morphine Motorsports Series 2026, a three-day national-level competition held in Coimbatore.

The team also won the First Prize in the Best Engineering Design category, showcasing their innovation, engineering skills and technical expertise.


As part of the competition, Team Ketav presented its flagship electric motorcycle, ‘Ashva’, for technical inspection and evaluation before a panel of industry experts and judges.

The Ashva electric motorcycle is powered by a motor capable of delivering up to 4.5 kW of power and 48 Nm of torque. It is equipped with an 80 Ah lithium-ion battery featuring an active air-cooling system. The motorcycle’s chassis has been completely designed and manufactured by the students at the KIIT workshop.


Ashva can attain a top speed of approximately 110 km/h and offers a riding range of around 100 km on a single charge.


Safety has been given particular attention in the design of Ashva.
