Achyuta Samanta Conferred 76th Honorary Doctorate by IAR University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat
Eminent educationist, social reformer, and Founder of KIIT and KISS Dr. Achyuta Samanta has been conferred Honorary Doctorate by the Institute of Advanced Research (IAR), Gandhinagar.
This is the 76th Honorary Doctorate conferred on Dr. Samanta, strengthening his standing as one of the most widely honoured educationists and social reformers in India. This honorary degree is conferred in recognition of his extraordinary contributions to leadership roles, education, social and humanitarian work, sports promotion, etc and his enduring impact on society.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta was conferred the honour today at a Special Convocation ceremony of IAR University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The honour was presented in the presence of Rushikesh Ganeshbhai Patel, Minister for Energy and Petrochemicals, Panchayats and Rural Housing, Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Gujarat; Brigadier P. C. Vyas, Pro-VC and Director of the university, and several eminent personalities from Gujarat. Faculty members, academicians, researchers and students also attended the ceremony.
IAR University is one of the reputed state universities in Gujarat. The university was established in 2003 under the leadership of the then Chief Minister of Gujarat and incumbent Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Expressing his gratitude for the honour, Dr. Samanta thanked the authorities of IAR University, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, the Board of Management, and the Academic Council for recognising his contributions and conferring the distinction.
