Youth Red Cross KIIT Volunteers Organize Sensitisation Programme for K-Explore Students

Youth Red Cross (YRC), KIIT Unit, organized an awareness programme on HIV/AIDS for around 500 K-Explore students enrolled in the Health and Emergency Care elective. The session was graced by Mrs. Smruti Sagarika Kanungo, Project Officer, and Assistant Director, Odisha State AIDS Control Society (OSACS), as the Chief Guest.

She delivered an insightful lecture highlighting the importance of HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention, early detection, and the need to eliminate stigma associated with the disease. The session was made highly engaging through interactive videos and an informative question-and-answer segment, encouraging active participation from the students.

The event successfully enhanced students’ understanding of HIV/AIDS and emphasized the significance of informed decision-making, empathy, and community awareness in promoting public health.

The event was coordinated by KIIT YRC Counsellors Dr. Chitralekha Jena, Dr. Junali Jasmine Jena, Dr. Ajit Kumar Pasayat, and Dr. Ramesh Chandra Sethi.
