KSFT Organizes Inter-School Painting Competition under KRITANTUJA 2026

The KIIT School of Fashion Technology (KSFT) successfully organized an Inter-School Painting Competition on 5^th August 2026 as part of KRITANTUJA 2026, celebrating the spirit of the 12^th National Handloom Day. The event brought together 110 young artists from 10 leading schools in Bhubaneswar, providing them with a vibrant platform to showcase their creativity while promoting awareness of India’s rich handloom heritage, traditional crafts, sustainability, and cultural identity.

The programme commenced with the registration of participants, followed by the screening of an inspirational film on KIIT, KISS, and the vision of the Founder. Dr. Rajeev Kumar Panda, Dean, welcomed the participants and faculty coordinators, while the Heads of the School of Fashion Technology, School of Mass Communication, and School of Film and Media Sciences were introduced. Faculty coordinators from the participating schools were felicitated before Ms. Monalisa Das, Assistant Professor, School of Fashion Technology, briefed the participants on the competition theme, rules, and evaluation process.

Students from BJEM School, Royal Public School, KIIT Public School, DAV Public School (Kalinga Nagar), ODM Public School, KiiT International School, Mother’s Public School, DAV Public School (Unit-8), Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, and Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 enthusiastically participated in the competition, creating artworks inspired by themes of Indian handlooms, heritage, sustainability, traditional crafts, and culture.

The competition forms a key outreach initiative under KRITANTUJA 2026, with the winners to be felicitated during the valedictory ceremony on 8^th August 2026.

The competition successfully encouraged artistic expression among school students while fostering greater appreciation for India’s textile traditions and cultural heritage. It also strengthened inter-school engagement and reaffirmed KIIT’s commitment to nurturing creativity, sustainability, and experiential learning among young minds.

The School expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the Founder of KIIT, KISS & KIMS, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, whose visionary leadership continues to inspire academic excellence and holistic education. The School also acknowledged the constant encouragement and support of Vice Chancellor Prof. Saranjit Singh and Registrar Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty in organising meaningful academic and outreach initiatives.

The event was successfully coordinated by Ms. Monalisa Das and Ms. Biswaranjita Mohapatra, Assistant Professors, School of Fashion Technology, who served as the Conveners of KRITANTUJA 2026 and played a pivotal role in the planning and seamless execution of the programme.
