KINS Faculty Selected as National Trainer for Primary Healthcare Training Programme
Dr. Soumya Sonalika, Professor, Kalinga Institute of Nursing Sciences(KINS) has been selected as a National Trainer for the prestigious National Training of Trainers (NToT) on the Integrated Training Module for Primary Healthcare Teams. The two-day national programme was held on July 7–8, 2026, at the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), New Delhi, and was organized by the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
The training programme marks a significant milestone in strengthening competency- and skill-based capacity building for healthcare professionals serving at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs across the country. The inaugural sessions featured eminent dignitaries, including the Executive Director of NHSRC, the Joint Secretary (Policy), and the Additional Secretary & Managing Director, National Health Mission, who outlined the national vision for transforming primary healthcare through standardized, high-quality training.

Healthcare Training Programme
The programme combined expert-led sessions on adult learning principles, communication skills, participatory teaching methods, and effective training pedagogy with intensive hands-on practice. Participants engaged in cadre-specific technical discussions, skill station demonstrations, and microteaching exercises covering priority health areas such as Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCHA), Communicable Diseases, Non-Communicable Diseases, and Essential Public Health Services.
With this national recognition, Prof. (Dr.) Soumya Sonalika is now empowered to conduct Regional Training of Trainers (RToTs) for Community Health Officers, contributing to the nationwide rollout of quality primary healthcare services. Her achievement reflects KINS‘ continued commitment to academic excellence, faculty leadership, and strengthening India’s public health system through capacity building and professional development.
