KIIT Successfully Conducts the 2nd Annual Research & Innovation Conclave

KIIT Deemed to be University successfully organized its 2nd Annual Research & Innovation Conclave in Bhubaneswar in March 2026. Centered on the visionary theme, “Convergence of Invention to Innovation,” the three-day event served as a high-level forum for researchers, industry leaders, and academicians to bridge the gap between theoretical discovery and practical application. The conclave provided a vibrant ecosystem for scholars to showcase their work through research posters and innovative projects designed to address the most pressing societal and technological challenges of the modern era.

Eminent delegates, including Dr. Gurpreet Singh Kapur, Advisor (R&D) at GAIL (India) Limited; Prof. Sanjay Mathur from the University of Cologne, Germany; Prof. Sourav Pal, Chairman, School of Chemical Sciences at Ashoka University; Prof. Sivaji Chakravorti, Vice President of the Indian National Academy of Engineering; Prof. Manoj Kumar Sinha, Vice-Chancellor of Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur; and Mr. Miten N. Mehta, C-Suite Leader, IP & L, GTM & Growth in AI, Web3 & Tech Innovator, USA, enlightened the audience with their insightful lectures and advisory notes.

The leadership of KIIT further enriched the inaugural sessions with their insights on the evolving landscape of higher education and research. Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice-Chancellor, delivered the inaugural address and highlighted the university’s rising trajectory in global rankings.
The organizing committee, led by the strategic vision of Prof. Gopal C. Kundu, Chairman of the RDI Cell, ensured that the conclave maintained a rigorous standard of scientific excellence. Academic excellence was further bolstered by the guidance of eminent faculty members such as Prof. Suresh C. Satapathy, Director, Doctoral Research and Publications, and Dr. Amlana Panda, Assistant Registrar (RDI), whose mentorship was pivotal in streamlining technical sessions that ranged from deep-tech advancements to sustainable development goals.

Welcoming the guests, delegates, and dignitaries, Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder – KIIT, KISS & KIMS, expressed his happiness at having all the Ph.D. scholars from KIIT gathered in the auditorium during his special address at KIIT’s 2nd Annual Research & Innovation Conclave. He underscored the university’s commitment to fostering a progressive and sustainable future, urging young scholars to transition from being thinkers to doers. Prof. Samanta encouraged the participants to ensure that every scientific breakthrough translates into a tangible benefit for society, thereby driving transformative change across the region and the country.


The highlights of the event were the competitive research showcase, where students and faculty members from various schools of KIIT presented their latest research work. The quality of scholarly discussion was commendable, culminating in a ceremony where 40 participants were conferred the Best Poster Awards for their outstanding contributions, along with 5 Best Start-up Ideas.


The conclusion of the conclave reflected KIIT’s sustained dedication to nurturing a “Spirit of Inquiry” among its students and faculty. The event closed with a valedictory session that celebrated the success of this year’s participants while setting an ambitious agenda for future innovation-driven growth through the continued efforts of the RDI Cell and the university leadership.
