KSFMS and KSMC Organize ‘The Art of Storytelling through Photography’

Workshop with YOOF, Canon and RAPOO India

The School of Film and Media Sciences (KSFMS) and the School of Mass Communication (KSMC), in collaboration with YOOF India, Canon and RAPOO India, organized a workshop on “The Art of Storytelling through Photography” on 10 March 2026.

More than 150 students participated in the workshop, including students from KSFMS, KSMC, the School of Design, and members of Kalakar and the Kreative Eye Society of KSAC, KIIT Deemed to be University, along with visiting students from DAV Public School, Unit-8, and PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya-II.

The session was conducted by Master Trainer Mr. Amrit Panigrahi, while Mr. Anindo Basu, Deputy Manager – Product Training, ICB Marketing, represented Canon and shared insights on camera technology and visual storytelling. The workshop also included hands-on exercises, enabling students to explore storytelling through photography in practice.

The workshop was facilitated by Prof. Susanta Bahinipati from the School of Film and Media Sciences, who coordinated the programme and guided the participants during the practical session.

The Dean, School of Film & Media Sciences, School of Mass Communication and School of Fashion Technology, who also anchored the programme, expressed happiness over the successful conduct of the workshop and the enthusiastic participation of the students, and thanked the faculty members and the Heads of KSFMS and KSMC for their support.

He also expressed gratitude to the Registrar and the Vice Chancellor of KIIT-DU for their continued encouragement of such academic initiatives.

A special note of thanks was conveyed to the Founder of KIIT and KISS, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, for creating the beautiful and inspiring campuses that nurture creativity, innovation and learning.

The participating students expressed their gratitude to KIIT-DU for providing them with the opportunity to be part of such an enriching workshop, while the visiting school students were overjoyed by the experience and learning they gained from the session.

The workshop concluded with the distribution of Certificates of Participation to all participants, making it a memorable and valuable learning experience for everyone involved.
