Award-Winning Performance

Pruthiraj Pal, a talented student from the KIIT School of Film and Media Sciences (KSFMS), brought laurel for the KIIT University, as he has been honoured with the Best Supporting Character Award at the prestigious Paridrishya Film Festival for Short Films and Documentaries 2026. The ceremony was held from February 20th to 22nd at the Maharaja College Ground in Mysuru, where Pruthiraj accepted the accolade for his standout performance in the film “Free Tour”.

The project, which has been gaining significant traction in the student film circuit, features Amar Mahapatra, an alumnus of KSFMS, in a leading role and showcases the visual expertise of Cinematographer (DOP), Mausam Sahoo, another alumnus. This recognition further solidifies KIIT‘s reputation as a nurturing ground for the next generation of cinematic excellence. The Deans of SFMS, SFT, and SMC, along with the Head of SFMS and the faculty members, congratulated Pruthiraj and commended his outstanding achievement.
