The IEEE KIIT Student Branch celebrated IEEE Day 2025, marking the historic occasion when engineers worldwide first came together in 1884 to share their technical ideas. Organized in association with the IEEE Bhubaneswar Subsection, the event brought together eminent personalities, faculty members, and student volunteers to reaffirm the IEEE mission — “Advancing Technology for the Benefit of Humanity.”
The inaugural session opened with a warm welcome to dignitaries and guests by representatives of the IEEE KIIT Student Branch. The speakers praised Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT, KISS & KIMS as a visionary leader whose tireless efforts have transformed KIIT into a globally recognized institution. His pioneering initiatives — including empowering 40,000 students from 65 countries through KIIT, providing free education and skill development to 80,000 tribal children through KISS, and establishing Asia’s first solar-powered smart village, Kalarabanka — were lauded as remarkable milestones in education, empowerment, and nation-building.
The Chief Guest, Swami Prem Anveshi, a renowned spiritual mentor and former business magnate, captivated the audience with insights from his journey from material success to spiritual elevation. Founder and former Chairman of several leading enterprises, including Futurex Trade Fairs & Events Pvt. Ltd. and EcoGreen Infrastructure & Development Pvt. Ltd., Swamiji’s presence symbolized the harmony between enterprise, ethics, and enlightenment.
Distinguished dignitaries included Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU, and Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar. Eminent IEEE leaders — Prof. Jangamshetti Suresh, Vice Chancellor, Haveri University; Prof. Subhransu Ranjan Samantaray, Chair, IEEE Bhubaneswar Section; Prof. Ashok Kumar Tripathy, Advisor, IEEE Bhubaneswar Section; and Shri Hare Krushna Rath, former Director, ITR Chandipur — also graced the occasion.
Dr. Bijaya Kumar Sahu, Program Head (East), NRDC, Government of India, joined as Guest of Honour and emphasized innovation and intellectual property as key drivers of national development.

Special appreciation was extended to Mr. Ravindu, Chair of the IEEE KIIT Student Branch, and the team of student volunteers for their outstanding leadership and coordination.
