Prof. Gopal C. Kundu delivered a talk at the 12th European Advanced Materials Congress (EAMC) organized by IAAM on 18th-20th August 2025, in physical mode. The 12th EAMC specifically focused on promoting collaboration across borders to address global challenges in health, green energy, and environment through advanced materials research.

As part of the Congress, Prof. Kundu’s contributions were recognized with the Advanced Materials Laureate Award in 2023 and presented on 20th August, 2025. Prof. Kundu is notably the only Indian Scientist to receive the Advanced Materials Laureate Award from IAAM.

The International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM), based in Sweden, is a globally recognized non-profit scientific organization dedicated to advancing materials science and technology for the betterment of society. IAAM is committed to climate action, but doesn’t exclusively host carbon-neutral conferences; instead, their conferences often focus on topics like materials science, green energy, healthcare and sustainability that support the transition to a green economy and climate neutrality.

On 20th August 2025, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between KIIT University and IAAM to foster collaborative research and innovation in advanced materials and related fields. Furthermore, Prof. Kundu was appointed as a Lifetime Distinguished Fellow and Adjunct Professor under IAAM’s Knowledge Integration and R&D World Links Program. This prestigious appointment acknowledges his role in fostering innovation and international collaboration in advanced materials and life sciences.

Prof. Kundu acknowledged the unwavering support of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT, KISS, and KIMS, whose visionary leadership has enabled world-class research at KIIT. He also thanked Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice-Chancellor of KIIT Deemed to be University, for his constant encouragement and commitment to fostering a robust research ecosystem.
