Colloquium on “Opportunities in the Aviation Sector” by KIIT School of Aerospace Engineering
The School of Aerospace Engineering, KIIT-DU, organized a colloquium on “Opportunities in the Aviation Sector” on 1st February 2025. The event aimed to strengthen professional engagement between academia and industry.
Er. Bishnu Ch. Behera, Deputy Director General, Civil Aviation, and Technical Advisor, DGCA, Government of India, was the resource person for the program. He delivered a technical talk covering various aspects of aviation, including recent developments in the sector, the current demand for resources to meet airline requirements, DGCA regulations, and job opportunities in aviation.
The session was attended by faculty, staff, and students of the School of Aerospace Engineering. It was also open to students from other schools of KIIT-DU, who actively participated in the technical discussion. An interactive session followed, where students engaged enthusiastically with the resource person. The event concluded with a visit to KIIT-DU’s aerospace facility by Er. Behera.
Earlier, Prof. Mrutyunjay Jena, Dean of the School of Aerospace Engineering, KIIT-DU, delivered the welcome address. He highlighted the lifelong contributions of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT, KIMS & KISS to society. This was followed by a brief introduction of Er. Behera, who has extensive experience in aeronautical organizations such as Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), the Directorate General of Aeronautical Quality Assurance (DGAQA), and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
